String Theory - online workshop Friday 21 May 7pm (UK time)
This is one ticket for a 2 hour live session, delivered over Zoom, to introduce and explain how to approach a variety of different materials for making string/cordage. Alice will talk through some examples from her own work, introducing her approach and interest in cordage making using found, gathered and grown materials. The session will include a demonstration of the process of making string, which participants will be encouraged to try during the session. Alice will explain how the basic technique can be applied to a variety of different foraged and re-purposed materials and give examples of how the cordage might then be applied to different making contexts.
Participants are asked to have ready for the session:
lightweight cloth (e.g. old shirt or calico),
newspaper (or other low quality paper),
a small bowl of water or a spray bottle.
Please ensure you have access to Zoom software beforehand.
You will be sent an email the day before the session with the zoom link.
The session will not be recorded.
This purchase is for one ticket for one person. Please do not share the session link with anyone else. Ticket refundable up to 1 week before the session minus 10%.
